Why Do Over 90% Of Dieters Fail?

How many times have you started a weight loss program only to give up after just a few weeks? I know you will have done this before, because nearly everyone does it. Did you know that over 90% of dieters fail!

But how can this be? When you join these programs you’re told what to eat (in many of them you even get daily diet sheets) and there’s usually an exercise program of some sort included...... So we know what to eat and we know what exercises to do, yet still we mostly fail!

Why? Is there something they’re NOT telling us? (What do you think?) Let’s look a little deeper into what’s going on here.

When you first decide to lose weight and get in better shape, you can compare yourself to an alcoholic who wants to give up drinking - especially if you have been overweight for a number of years and have struggled with bad eating habits for just as long. Let’s be honest here – the word we are looking at is addiction. Many people are addicted to bad eating habits and get little  exercise (if they get any at all!)

Like drink or any type of drug addiction, bad eating habits can take a great deal of willpower and determination to overcome. But how many people can give up drink or drugs just by willpower and determination alone? Not many, right? There is no quick fix. It’s tough, and everyone knows it, so special programs have been developed to help,  and the success rate for people on these programs is way, way higher.

This is one of the main reasons why so many people hop from fad diet to fad diet, - never quite managing to see real, lasting results. In our ‘I want it right now’ society, we are all looking for the ‘easy way’ in the form of an instant, quick fix. When we hear about the amazing results from the latest fad diet, it ticks all the boxes and is just what we all want to hear - so we rush headlong into it.

But in the rush to avoid doing something that might take some effort, we forget to listen to our common sense which is telling us that no plan is ever going to be that easy, especially when we have so many deeply ingrained bad eating habits that need to be broken. Believe me, these bad habits will always be a challenge no matter which weight loss plan you choose.

The problem is, the more times you fail at the fad diets, the more convinced you become that you just can’t lose weight. And guess what? The more you feel that way, the more you are right…..

Of course, there are always some people who will make progress with their fad diet – until they unexpectedly come up against an obstacle the weight loss industry knows all about (but which they forget to tell you about). This is often one problem to many for most dieters, and as they are not prepared for it they don’t have the determination to cope.

Does this sound familiar? Is weight loss this difficult for you too? Well, you are not on your own. As I already mentioned, over 90% of dieters fail! And the reason is quite simply that you’re not being given all the information you need to succeed.
